DARRINGTON — Two teenage boys are believed to be responsible for the May 5 arson at the Darrington Junior Athletic Association’s storage shed at Whitehorse Community Park.
The boys, 15 and 16, were recently taken into custody after a joint investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The boys allegedly sprayed something flammable on the shed door and then ignited it, officials said. The fire caused nearly $10,000 in damage and destroyed baseball equipment.
Little League players all over town were distraught about the loss until local businesses stepped in with donations.
The case has been forwarded to prosecutors.
