NHL draft complete, no Tips picked

It’s official. No Everett Silvertips were selected in this year’s NHL draft. That’s no surprise as Everett had no players crack the NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s rankings all season long, but this confirms that no Tips sneaked in under the radar. This is the first time since 2005 that Everett went without having a player picked.

Next up for the Tips is the CHL import draft, which takes place Wednesday. Everett, which doesn’t have any imports on its current roster, is scheduled to pick 21st overall and could also use its second-round pick. The Tips may end up picking a player who just got selected in the NHL draft, so they may not have been completely shut out of this year’s draft just yet.
