Fundraiser to help Sultan families affected by fire

SULTAN — A fundraiser is planned this weekend for two Sultan families whose homes were damaged in a July 10 fire.

The fire nearly destroyed a home in the Willow Run neighborhood and damaged a home next door, officials said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Now, neighbors of those families are hosting a garage sale, bake sale and barbecue lunch sale.

The events are planned from 10 a.m. to dusk Saturday and Sunday at the park on the corner of Willow Avenue and Whispering Pine Place, Sultan city administrator Deborah Knight said.
