In the aftermath of the Aug. 23 scuffle that broke out among its members, the Everett School Board is set to implement some new rules. The proposals would ban audio or video recordings of its closed-door meetings and prevent the release of certain information.
You can find out more at the board’s next meeting, to be held Tuesday night in an octagon cage. A referee will be on hand to ensure there is no eye-gouging, hair-pulling or head-butting.
In other responsible adult news: Yahoo board member Carol Bartz has resigned after calling her fellow directors “doofuses” in an interview with Fortune magazine.
In a statement, the board responded that it was fine with her departure, given that she is such a dweeb.
Heads up: The annual Pumpkin Hurl is slated for Saturday in Snohomish. Head out to the 10 a.m. event to cheer on the Everett team against four competitors as they use trebuchets to hurl 10-pound pumpkins.
If you’re curious, the answer is no. Pumpkin-hurling is not among the activities banned at Everett School Board meetings.
