North Charleston is not Charleston

The Herald’s front page story concerning Boeing’s desired move to South Carolina has again made it a “tale-of-two-cities” by referring to North Charleston, S.C. (which lies nearly 100 miles north of the better known city of Charleston) as Boeing’s choice for a new plant.
During the mid-1950s I lived in North Charleston. At that time it was an asbestos factory town and nearly every resident worked at the factory and lived in factory-owned houses.
As a current Everett resident whose heart is in North Charleston, I’m of “two minds” on the Boeing issue. I do, however, wish the Associated Press and Herald staff would accurately report Boeing’s chosen city to be North Charleston, S.C.
