Seahawks expected to sign LB David Vobora

With linebacker Matt McCoy expected to be out for a while because of a knee injury, the Seahawks are expected to sign linebacker David Vobora. The news won’t be announced by the team until tomorrow, but Vobora’s agent announced on Twitter that his client will be signing with Seattle.
Vobora, a seventh-round pick out of Idaho in 2008, spent training camp with Seattle but was cut before the start of the season. Like McCoy, Vobora is strong special teams player and has the versatility to play multiple linebacker positions. Despite this signing and the injury to McCoy, don’t expect the corresponding move to be McCoy going on injured reserve. Pete Carroll said earlier in the day that McCoy won’t be out for the season. Instead, expect the Seahawks to part ways with FB Eddie Williams now that starter Michael Robinson is back from an ankle injury.
