Pina no longer on MP football team

Marysville Pilchuck goes into its most important game of the year Friday without one of its best running backs. Andre Pina, who rushed for 418 yards and four touchdowns this season, is no longer on the team, according to head coach Brandon Carson.

“Andre is no longer on the team and that’s all I’ll say,” Carson said after practice on Thursday.

MP, which must beat Monroe Friday and hope for a Snohomish loss to keep its playoff hopes alive, will spread out the carries to senior Chris Herbert, who rushed for 57 yards on 12 carries against Lake Stevens last week, Deion Stell, Colby Merkt and Cody House.
