Ghosts and goblins return to the Edmonds Museum: 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Edmonds Historical Museum, 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds; the museum will once again “spookify” its lower level on Halloween night for a “friendly” historic haunting where visitors can step back in time to
1911, the year Edmonds’ Carnegie Library (now the museum) opened. Participants will make their way through Edmonds’ eerie past, including the haunted train tunnel. Museum volunteers will hand out candy; the front porch will be set up for photographs. The museum requests a $1 donation at the door.

Seattle artist Toshi Asai presents a two-part exhibit that blends visual and literary arts; part one (in the display case) contains “Sakka Series” a collection of famous, significant modern Japanese authors; part two (in the gallery) includes a form of collage-like drawing and painting done during an intensive 30-hour drawing-performance; the show is up through Oct. 29.

An exhibit by artist Evan Blackwell whose “Metropolis” reflects the planning for and response to his piece of the same title commissioned for the front of Meadowdale Hall. Through Dec. 9.

The Pacific Northwest Needle Arts Guild will display more than 40 works of needlecraft during their 2011 Fiber Show through Dec. 31, featuring techniques such as embroidery, quilting, felting, crocheting, knitting, basketry and cross-stitching. Also, a model train exhibit with layout is on permanent display downstairs.

Moore, who was born in Everett, learned glassblowing at the Pratt Fine Arts Center and Pilchuck Glass School. In 2009, she was the Arts Council of Snohomish County’s artist of the year. Ellinger, of Stanwood, started blowing glass in 1983. Moore and Ellinger will speak about their work at 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the gallery, with a reception to follow.
