Christian Gasca

Lake Stevens | Football

The Vikings receiver/defensive back/return man (above) returned two punts for touchdowns and also took back an interception for a touchdown as Lake Stevens thumped Heritage 44-7. Gasca also caught five passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Hannah Huesers

Lake Stevens | Girls soccer

The Vikings forward scored two goals in a 4-1 win over Snohomish and then scored the game’s only goal in a win over Eastlake in a state play-in game.

Glacier Peak | Girls swimming

The Grizzlies swimmer won the 500 freestyle, the 100 breaststroke and helped GP win the 200 medley relay race as the Grizzlies finished second in the team competition at this past weekend’s 3A District 1 meet.

Ruby Mensing

Glacier Peak | Volleyball

The Grizzlies outside hitter had 20 kills to lead all players as Glacier Peak beat Lynnwood to advance to the state tournament for the first time in school history. Mensing had eight aces and nine kills in Glacier Peak’s opening round match against Mount Vernon and totaled 26 kills and 34 digs in wins over Oak Harbor and Everett in the consolation bracket.

King’s | Boys cross country

The Knights harrier won his first state title, finishing first in the individual 1A boys state championship race by 11 seconds over his closest in a time of 15 minutes, 44 seconds.

Jordin Stephenson

Stanwood | Girls cross country

The Spartans runner was the highest local finisher in the 4A girls state championship race, placing 10th in a time of 18:44 and helping Stanwood take 12th place as a team.
