Challengers leads over incumbents narrows in Edmonds Council races

Edmonds City Council challenger Joan Bloom’s lead over incumbent Councilman DJ Wilson narrowed Thursday to 52 votes out of more than 9,000 cast.

The Thursday vote count showed Bloom with 4,541 votes to 4,489 for Wilson.

Challenger Bob Wilcox’s lead over incumbent Councilwoman Diane Buckshnis narrowed Thursday to 30 votes.

The vote count showed Wilcox with 4,643 votes to 4,673 for Buckshnis.

Neither are close enough to require a mandatory recount.

A machine recount is required when two candidates are within 0.5 percent of the two-candidate total, a hand recount when the candidates are within 0.25 percent,
