EVERETT — After a 15-point first half, Cascade turned things around with 34 points in the sevcond half to edge Mountlake Terrace 49-45 in a high school girls basketball game Wednesday night at the Cascade gym.

“We decided to play basketball. It’s kind of a funny thing,” Cascade coach Ed Bowers said.

“They came out on fire. We got them to play the right defensive scheme and that changed everything for the best for us.”

Kianna Hood had 10 rebounds, two steals and seven blocks to go with her game-high 18 points for the Bruins.

“She tore it up,” Bowers said.
