Prep wrestling: Big Dog Tournament

EVERETT — Cascade topped Lakewood 48-27 in the finals of Saturday’s Big Dog Tournament, a team dual held at Cascade High School. It was the first time the Bruins won their home event in the tournament’s history, according to Cascade coach Brooklyn Obregon. Nick Carney, a Cascade (6-0) JV wrestler filling in at the 113-pound weight class, won by decision 10-3 over Lakewood’s Hunter Olson in the final match. Cascade’s Blake Carrico (220 pound weight class) pinned James Giorgio in 3:24, and Kellen Polk (170) pinned Lakewood’s James Fernandez in 3:28. Tahoma, which lost to Cascade 45-33 in an earlier match, took third at the event. Cascade also beat Ingraham, the fourth-place finisher, 68-9.
