BELLEVUE — Key rebounds down the stretch by Desmond Cochran (18 points, 10 rebounds) helped Monroe fend off a late-game run by Nathan Hale in the nonleague contest. The Bearcats had 20 team assists. Terrence Day had 14 points, eight assists for Monroe. Teammate Carl Bunge had 12 points and seven assists. Monroe advanced to the tournament championship game tonight at 8:15.
