Breaking point
America’s automakers can barely hire new workers fast enough to keep pace with booming demand for their products.
It’s gotten so bad that nervous General Motors executives have disclosed their ultimate fear: an order of Cadillacs from Mitt Romney.
Money from nothing: Meanwhile, in California’s Silicon Valley, Facebook’s amazing growth, while great for people with high-tech and business skills, has not led to job opportunities for local folks like Daniel Macias, a 20-year-old trainee carpenter.
Someone probably should give Mr. Macias a gentle reminder that carpenters actually make tangible, authentic things of lasting value.
When just a bracelet won’t do: Here’s a new trend in tattoos: medical instructions on your skin, like with the Kansas City, Mo., man who had “NO CPR” permanently inked on his chest.
Of course, you could go the opposite route with a tat that tells EMTs to TRY HARDER — I’M NOT READY!
