Shoe business
Well-heeled history: A Central Washington University museum has opened an exhibit that invited county residents to send in their shoes and tell the stories behind the footwear. One pair of shoes in the exhibit are the boots of a Roslyn coal miner.
But because of concerns for public health, the exhibit will not include any stories about the athletic shoes of teenagers.
These boots are made for walking: A spokesman for AAA Washington says gasoline prices in the state are likely to continue to rise and could reach as high as $4.50 a gallon before consumers see any relief.
The increase in gas prices is a concern for the American Automobile Association, which fears people may eventually quit its group and join the AGUPCBASWA, the American Give Up, Put the Car on Blocks and Start Walking Association.
Heartless: Members of a cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, were shocked to learn that someone stole a church relic overnight from the cathedral: the preserved heart of St. Laurence O’Toole, patron saint of Dublin. The theft was even more perplexing, a church official said, because the heart has no monetary value.
Dublin police said their chief suspect is a tin man seen near the church and in the company of a scarecrow, a lion and a Kansas girl and her dog.
