SEATTLE — A man who spent about an hour in the water after he fell from a small inflatable raft off West Seattle has died.

Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore says the 25-year-old fell in Puget Sound Monday night as he was using the raft to take supplies to a sailboat near the Fauntleroy ferry terminal.

Two Seattle fire boats and three divers searched with help from police and Coast Guard boats, a helicopter and a state ferry.

The man was found about 25 yards off shore. He was given CPR on the way to Harborview Medical Center. Hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg says he died.
