Prospect update: Telus Cup

Everett’s season may be over, but a handful of Everett’s prospects are still playing.
Two of Everett’s top prospects, forwards Carson Stadnyk and Dawson Leedahl, play for a Saskatoon Contacts team that is headed to the Telus Cup, the Canadian midget hockey version of the Memorial Cup. The Contacts knocked off the Winnipeg Wild — featuring Tips prospect Geordie Maguire — to advance to the Telus Cup from the West Region. Though I wasn’t able to track down any stats from regionals, the game reports suggest both Stadnyk and Leedahl were on the scoresheet multiple times.
Another of Everett’s top prospects, center Ty Mappin, has a chance to join Stadnyk and Leedahl at the Telus Cup. Mappin and the Red Deer Optimist Rebels face the Vancouver North West Giants in a three-game series this weekend to determine the representative from the Pacific Region.
The Telus Cup takes place April 23-29 in Leduc, Alberta.
