SHORELINE — Shorewood’s Avery Foltz finished 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBI and Ben Andrews scored three times as the Thunderbirds won the opening round game of the 3A District 1 Tournament. Drew McDonald went 2-for-2 for Stanwood. Shorewood hosts Ferndale for a berth in the state tournament on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Stanwood travels to Mountlake Terrace to take on the Hawks in a loser-out game.
