Lynnwood High School sophomore Kaelyn Stanton stands to be recognized Tuesday in Edmonds by members of the Edmonds Rotary Club during the presentation of a trumpet to Stanton. She received the Pelland Trumpet, a professional-level Bach Stradivarius instrument, from the Music4Life program. The trumpet is awarded each year to an outstanding musician in the Edmonds school system. Music4Life provides instruments free of charge to participating school districts for use by elementary-age students of low-income families. The Pelland Trumpet is a special award given yearly to an Edmonds Public Schools student chosen by a committee.
