Prep boys soccer: Mount Vernon 5, Mariner 1

EVERETT — Justin Morrison scored four goals to spearhead Mount Vernon’s win over Mariner in an elimination match in the 4A District 1 Tournament. Cristian Caro added a goal and an assist and Humberto Garza had two assists for the Bulldogs. The Maruaders’ Edgar Navarro scored on a free kick late in the second half. Mount Vernon will travel to Snohomish to play the Panthers in a district semifinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
