Washington plays Georgia Tech in NCAA baseball tourney opener

INDIANAPOLIS – Washington plays Georgia Tech in the Oxford, Miss. Regional in the first round of the NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The selection committee announced the field of 64 for the championship Monday.

The Huskies (39-15-1) play Georgia Tech (36-25) in their first round game at 1 p.m. (PDT) on Friday. The game is televised on (ESPN3). UW will play either Mississippi (41-18) or Jacksonville State (36-25) on Saturday.

The tournament will run Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and if necessary, Monday, May 30-June 2.

The top-eight overall seeds that can host through the entire tournament until the College Worlds Series are: Oregon State, Florida, Virginia, Indiana, Florida State, Louisiana-Lafayette, TCU and LSU.
