EVERETT — Everett defeated Monroe in overtime in a non-conference game Tuesday.

“It went back and forth,” Everett head coach John Richer said about the fourth quarter. “I don’t know if any team led by more than a couple of points after (regulation) and overtime was the same. Monroe played hard and competed really well. It’s just nice to see our guys play hard and to get the win.”

Richer said the key to Everett’s victory was making crucial shots and free throws. “We made some shots when we had to,” Richer said.

David Popach led the Seagulls with 22 points, Donminic Barashkoff also had a big night for Everett, scoring 11 points and sinking two 3-pointers.

“Popach (was a) great leader on the court,” Richer said. “Overall, the guys worked hard and the bench was great.

It was a really nice team win.”
