KIRKLAND — A bald eagle managed to survive a crash with a car on a freeway in a Seattle suburb.
KOMO-TV reported a woman was driving in the southbound lanes of Interstate 405 in Kirkland on Sunday evening when a bald eagle hit her windshield, leaving a big gash in the glass.
She told the TV station and the Washington State Patrol the eagle managed to get to a median and sat there for a bit. Troopers responded and tried to get the eagle into a cage to be checked out at an animal hospital, but the bird flew away before they could corral it.
The driver said she was glad it appears the eagle was OK.
