Notes: Everett remains without defenseman Tristen Pfeifer, who misses his fifth straight game because of an upper-body injury. The Tips also play without winger Graham Millar for unknown reasons. Everett continues to ride the hot hand of Carter Hart in goal as the 16-year-old rookie and reigning CHL Goaltender of the Week gets his fourth straight start.

Also, the Tips announced Wednesday the signing of defenseman Alex Astasiewicz to a WHL education contract. Astasiewicz, a 16-year-old from Salmon Arm, B.C., was a third-round pick in the 2013 bantam draft. The 6-foot, 195-pounder spent this season playing with the Golden Rockets of the junior B KIJHL, where he had five goals and 20 assists in 46 games. Astasiewicz is spending the next couple weeks in Everett and has been added to the roster, wearing No. 6. He’s the third 1998-born player to sign with the Tips, joining roster players Hart and Gunnar Wegleitner.

Notes: Portland plays without winger Alex Schenborn because of a lower-body injury, while defenseman Nick Heid is done for the season because of shoulder surgery. Both center Jack Flaman and defenseman Brendan De Jong will take the warm-up, but just one will play.
