2 injured in Lake Stevens collision that snarls traffic

LAKE STEVENS — Two people were injured in an collision on southbound Highway 9 at Lundeen Parkway Sunday afternoon and traffic remains backed up for a mile.

The collision occurred about 1:30 p.m. and was caused when a motorcycle hit a car. Another driver, riding on a motorcycle trike, tried to avoid the accident, “went off his wheels” and rolled several times, said Bruce Huston, a battalion chief for the Lake Stevens Fire Department.

Two people were transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, he said.

The accident remains under investigation.
