Published 7:25 pm Sunday, April 19, 2015

A group of Marysville Pilchuck High School alumni have launched a scholarship program for seniors planning a career in health and human services or related fields.

The Caring for Your Community Scholarship, organized by the MP Memorial Foundation, is offering up to $2,000 for Marysville School District seniors.

The MP Memorial Foundation was established after the shootings at the school last year, and is unaffiliated with the Marysville Pilchuck Recovery Fund, a joint effort by the city, school district and Tulalip Tribes to raise funds for the families of the victims.

The scholarship application form is located on the MP Memorial Foundation website and is open to all graduating seniors enrolled in the Marysville School District. Applications are due on May 15 and applicants will be notified of their selection on June 1.
