Friday roundup: Seattle U clinches top seed in WAC Tournament

Published 11:08 pm Friday, May 15, 2015

Seattle 5, Northern Colorado 4

Ted Hammond (Shorecrest) pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn his sixth win of the spring as the Redhawks scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth to beat Northern Colorado on Friday night.

Cal State Northridge 3, Washington 2

UW’s Alex Schmidt (Kamiak) went 1-for-3 with a run scored, but Brandon Choate (Mountlake Terrace) issued a walk and gave up a single to load the bases with nobody out in the sixth inning, and the Matadors scored two runs to take the lead in the first game of a non-conference series.

But last, and certainly not least, a reminder of why college baseball is so wonderful. Please let me know the next time the Mariner and Angels do this during a rainout.
