Schedules coming out this week

There hasn’t been a peep out of the WHL, but the Silvertips informed me that the preseason and regular season schedules for the 2015-16 season will be released this week.

The preseason schedule is set to be released Tuesday, while the regular season schedule comes out Wednesday. I wasn’t given any details, but presumably the Tips will be hosting their annual preseason tournament over Labor Day weekend again. Labor Day is late this year as it comes on Sept. 7. Therefore, the regular season should get underway the weekend of Sept. 25-27.

Oh, and there’s still nothing new with regards to Auston Matthews. The two weeks have elapsed since Matthews’ agent, Pat Brisson, said he hoped to have an answer to the Switzerland immigration problems within two weeks, but we continue to receive silence. So the saga continues …
