LYNNWOOD — A fire Saturday evening caused more than $400,000 in damage to a house east of Lynnwood.
A passerby spotted flames coming from the back of a house in the 16900 block of North Road. Firefighters found the house engulfed in flames, Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
No one was home and no one was injured. Because of the hot weather, the incident commander called for extra crews to allow firefighters to rotate out of the scene.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office.
