Bothell landlord offers cheaper rent to vegetarians

SEATTLE — A landlord in Bothell is offering discounts to tenants based on what they eat.
KING-TV reports that Jinesh Varia says he will rent out his Bothell property with a $200 discount to vegetarians or vegans. Varia hopes to create a trend by devoting his property to what he calls environmental activism.
Varia says offering a discount to those living a vegetarian lifestyle is a way to spread awareness.
The three-bedroom luxury townhome features a Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and nearby park. Varia says he’s already had more than a dozen showings in recent weeks.
