Everett schools win 28th award for financial reporting

For the 28th year in a row, Everett School District has won a certificate of excellence for its annual financial report.

The district was one of seven in the state to receive the award last year, according to a news release from the district.

The award will be presented to the district’s school board at its Tuesday meeting.

Everett School District goes beyond the state’s minimum requirements for its comprehensive financial annual report by using private sector standards.

Bond investors use the annual reports to guide investment decisions.

The district also is one of five in the state to earn an award for its financial reporting from the national Government Finance Officers Association this year. It is the eighth time the district has earned the award.
