Fishing: Kids ages 4 to 14 can fish for free from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 14 at Thornton A. Sullivan Park at Silver Lake in Everett. Bring your own equipment if you have it, although some may be available to borrow; everettwa.gov/652.

Butterflies: Meet in the garden at Arlington Library, 135 N. Washington Ave., at 11 a.m. May 14 for stories and crafts. Kids can make a potpourri sachet and plant a butterfly garden in a can; sno-isle.org.

Bubbles: See bubbles of all shapes and sizes at 1:30 p.m. May 14 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace; sno-isle.org.

Orcas: Learn about Puget Sound orcas at 11 a.m. May 14 at the Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. Killer Whale Tales will be presented by Jeff Hogan who is a professional biologist and photographer. $7; 425-316-8592 to register.

Hello! It’s the final weekend of the Hello Kitty exhibit at the EMP museum in Seattle. The cafe on wheels will offer treats and merchandise outside the museum on May 14 and 15. Events are planned both days in the museum as well; www.empmuseum.org.

Bike donations: Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop, 2531 Broadway Ave., Everett, is asking for donations of kids bikes for its Kid’s Bike Swap from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 12. Bikes with 20 inch and 24 inch wheels are especially needed. Donations earn credit for a larger bicycle; www.sharingwheels.org.

Stage

Brave princess: StoryBook Theater will perform “Sleeping Beauty” at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 15 at the Snohomish County PUD auditorium, 2320 California, St., Everett. In this version of the story the princess is interested in slaying dragons and finding adventure. Best for ages 3 and older. Tickets are $15; storybooktheater.org/tickets/sleeping-beauty.

Music Musical storytime, Soundbridge Seattle Symphony Music Discovery Center, 200 University St., Seattle. Kids explore classic musical stories through games, song and dance in this 30-minute class, 10:30 a.m. Fridays. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., children can see, touch and play real instruments.
