Everett pets up for adoption: cats and dogs, birds and bunnies
Cinco says he would like to be the only cat in the home. He wants to stay in the casa with his familia. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
George is curious and likes to play when he is out and about. Then, he “passes out” in your lap, according to his previous owner. He has lived with another cat at the shelter, Uma. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
Lakshmi is sweet, loves to cuddle, plays with her toys and enjoys the company of other cats with a proper introduction. She will need to remain on a special diet. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
Madrona is a nice gal, young, and a stray. Not much is known about her, but she will come out of her carrier to say hello and get some attention. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
Ruby loves the company of people. She may get along with other submissive dog and will need a meet and greet if there is a submissive dog in the home. In the past she has not played well with other dogs but she has lived with kids and cats. She tries to play with cats so if your cat does like playing with dogs then Ruby would not be a good fit. Medical info: Ruby is on life-long medication for a condition known as Shar-Pei Fever. It can be a serious disease; she is currently stable and not showing any symptoms. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Sparkles came to the shelter as a lost kitty. Not much is known about her, except that she can be shy and will need time to adjust to new surroundings. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
Steve is young and full of energy. He’ll even play fetch and catch his toys mid-air. He’s a bit wild and crazy, and needs a patient owner that will play with him and teach him good kitty manners. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
Susie is quite a character, with her mixed Siamese and tortoise-shell fur, blue eyes and extra toes. She likes to hide, but she gives herself away because she also likes to talk. She was a stray and will need a cat savvy owner, because she can get overstimulated. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
If Uma had met Oprah, then Oprah might have Uma. Too soon? You can have Uma. This sweetie has lived with another cat, George, also at the shelter. She prefers to be around older children, and requires a special diet. (Jon Annis / Everett Animal Shelter)
Everett pets up for adoption: cats and dogs, birds and bunnies

The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.

All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now. Here is the previous post featuring animals up for adoption.

If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.
