Mukilteo mayor’s garden on display at this year’s garden tour

EVERETT — An upcoming garden tour in Mukilteo will include six residential gardens, including Mayor Joe Marine’s, and 100 unique quilts on display.

This collaboration between Mukilteo Way Garden Club and Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters occurs once every two years, a press release said. For the first time, the Mukilteo mayor will open his garden to tour participants.

The event will take place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Mukilteo Ace Hardware at 12680 Mukilteo Speedway; Burkett’s at 2617 Colby Ave. in Everett; Quilting Mayhem at 1011 2nd St. in Snohomish; Sky Nursery at 18528 Aurora Ave. N. in Shoreline; Sunnyside Nursery at 3915 Sunnyside Blvd. in Marysville; or online at mukilteogardenandquilttour.org/purchase.html.

Tickets purchased in person will include a booklet for the self-guided tour. Participants who purchased their tickets online can pick up their tickets and booklets at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave. in Mukilteo, during tour hours on either Saturday or Sunday.

Tickets are only available through 8 p.m. Thursday and can be used on either day.

Also, participants can purchase $1 tickets for a raffle at the Rosehill Community Centers. Prizes include a $450 quilt, a $100 seasonal planter, $120 worth of garden accessories and a $125 spa gift basket, among others.

The drawing will take place 4:15 p.m. Sunday. Winners do not need to be present.
