How dogs can beat the back-to-school blues

You may be jumping for joy when the kids go back to school, but dogs can get the blues when their best friends suddenly disappear all day.
Canine Company suggests how to ease the trauma:
Start leaving him home alone for short periods before the first day of school to help him get used to alone time.
Pump up the exercise. Take her for a long walk in the morning and have the kids play an active round of fetch when they get home.
Add mental stimulation. Fill a treat-dispensing ball with your dog’s kibble. Working for a reward will keep him occupied for hours.
