Marysville police seeking driver who struck 10-year-old on bike

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Police Department is requesting help to find a driver who hit a 10-year-old girl Monday evening.

The Marysville girl was riding her bicycle with her family shortly after 7 p.m. in the crosswalk at 64th Street and Highway 528, according to police. The car turned left into the intersection and knocked the girl off the bicycle, before driving away from the scene.

The child was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, according to a press release. She had scrapes as well as bruising on her face and right leg. Police said the girl’s injuries could have been worse had she not been wearing a helmet.

A witness described the suspect vehicle as a gold 2002 Mercury Sable with a Washington license plate of 981YYD.

The license plate is associated with an address in Redmond. The landlord of that property told officers the owner of the vehicle had been renting the home, but was recently evicted.

Anyone who sees the car is asked to call 911.
