Forum on carbon-tax initiative Sunday in Shoreline

A forum on the carbon-tax initiative (I-732) on the Nov. 8 general-election ballot is scheduled for Sunday in Shoreline.

Initiative 732 would tax carbon emissions and reduce some other taxes, but opponents say that the tax cuts would deprive the state of needed revenue.

Representatives of the “Yes” and “No” sides will make presentations at the event scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sunday in Pilgrim Hall in the basement of the church at the corner of Richmond Beach Road and 15th Avenue Northwest. The forum comes a day or two after ballots and voters’ pamphlets arrive. Voters often bring their voters’ pamphlets to such events.
