EVERETT — A couple was arrested Tuesday in Spokane for investigation of assaulting and robbing an Everett man from the television show “Deadliest Catch.”
Jake Harris, 33, left the Quil Ceda Creek Casino in Marysville. A man and woman Harris had met the day before offered him a ride home. They drove south to Highway 526 in a black Range Rover.
The couple made a quick stop. Once they got back on the road, the man began beating Harris until he fell unconscious, police said. Harris’ wallet and $2,400 in cash reportedly was stolen, according to an Everett Police Department press release.
Harris was left on the side of the highway with injuries to his head and neck. He initially refused medical treatment, but later was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The couple has been taken into custody and are expected to be transferred Wednesday to the Snohomish County Jail.
Everett police continue to investigate.
