Everett Community College: EvCC theater students will perform “Eurydice” at 7:30 p.m. through 19 and Dec. 1-3 in EvCC’s Baker Hall, room 102. Playwright Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of his wife Eurydice. After dying on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. As Orpheus embarks on a quest to save her, Eurydice must decide if she will return to earth with him or stay in the underworld with her father. Directed by Scott Randall, the cast includes Melanie Stagner, Jacy Leavitt, Sean Costello, Jesse Rutgers, Lacey Quincy, Makayla Gunzenhauser, Merrilee Pollett, Kirsten Sandberg, Leela Barlow and Esther Dovgopolaya. Stage manager is Rachel Primrose, set designer is Noah Holland. Children age 10 and younger should not attend. Admission is by donation. Call 425-388-9525.

Edmonds Driftwood Players: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds; www.edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org or 425-774-9600, option 3. Next up is “Mr. Scrooge” Nov. 25-Dec. 18. Lighthearted music makes this a wonderful way for the entire family to see the grand story of the hardhearted Ebenezer Scrooge. The cast includes Chloe Cook, Sydney Kaser, Stephanie Kroschel, Karsten Lomax, Patrick Lucey-Conklin, Elise McFarland, Laura McFarlane, Jonathan Olson, Griffin Price, Jeff Strom, Kevin Tanner, MargaretWest, Randy West and Amelie Whitesell. Directed by Kylie McKenzie Soder with musical direction by Mark Press.

Red Curtain: Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit arts education organization, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville. More at www.redcurtainfoundation.org or 360-322-7402. Next up is Nick Poling’s and Alex DeRoest’s “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” Dec. 2-18. Call for tickets. Not recommended for children, but great for teens and adults. Lots of laughs, stage combat and green blood.

Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds; 206-533-2000 or www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org. A night and a matinee of comedy, improv and folly — “Whose Holiday is it Anyways?” — to benefit the launch of Youth Theatre Education Initiative, is set for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 2 p.m. Nov. 20. $25 donation includes treats, spirits and auction. Ages 21 and older. Next up is “The Christmas Spirit” Dec. 2-18. Directed by Keith Dahlgren, the cast includes Shannon Bengston, Eric Bischoff, George Bukata, Susan Connors, Nick Horatis, Phillip Keiman, Carlos Martinez, Debra Rich, Melanie Calderwood. Tickets are $19, or $16 for military and seniors.

Youth productions

Cascade High School: The classic “Our Town” continues at 7 p.m. Nov. 18-19 in the Bear Space Theater in the cafeteria at the high school, 801 E. Casino Road, Everett.

Lake Stevens High School: Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” continues on stage at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18-19 in the performing arts center, 113th Avenue NE, Lake Stevens. Free admission for veterans on Nov. 11. Tickets are $10, $8 for ASB students or $5 for children. More at www.lshsdramaclub.org.

Scriber Lake High School: In partnership with Seattle Public Theatre, students from the school will perform plays based on their life experiences at noon Nov. 18 at the Bathhouse Theatre, 7312 West Green Lake Dr. N., Seattle. The production also takes the stage from 11:30 to 12:30 Dec. 2 in the Black Box Theatre at Edmonds Community College.

Ballet

Olympic Ballet Theatre: The Edmonds company’s 36th season opens with “The Nutcracker” Dec. 9-11 at the Everett Performing Arts Center and Dec. 15-18 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. The full-length romantic ballet “Giselle” will be performed April 8 at the Everett Performing Arts Center and April 29 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Alderwood Dance Spectrum: “A Storybook Nutcracker” performances are 9:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Dec. 8, 9:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 9, and 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the PUD auditorium, 2320 California St., Everett. Tickets, $20 each, are available in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Emerald Ballet Theatre: “The Nutcracker” will be performed at 2 p.m. Dec. 3-4 and 10-11 at the Northshore Performing Arts Center, 18125 92nd Ave. NE, Bothell. Tickets, from $20, available by calling 425-298-3449.

Reflections School of Dance: “One Uncontainable Gift” will be presented at 2 and then again at 4 p.m. Dec. 6, Glacier Peak High School performing arts center, 7401 144th Pl. Comedy

Frank Caliendo: The well-known humorist takes the stage at 7 p.m. and then at 10 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Tulalip Resort Casino’s Orca Ballroom. Tickets are $45 or $55. Ages 21 and older. More at www.tulalipresort.com.

Edmonds Community College: In the Black Box Theatre, see “Far, Far Away… An Improvised Episode” at 8 p.m. Nov. 19. “May the Farce be with You” during this comedic improv evening. More at www.blackboxedcc.org.

Improv Comedy Night: Each third Saturday at 7 p.m. at Cafe Zippy, 2811 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Free.

Everett Comedy Night: Emory’s on Silver Lake, 11830 19th Ave. SE, Everett, hosts a second-Sunday monthly comedy night with Cory Michaelis. Tickets are $10. Opera
