LIVE BLOG: Everett Silvertips vs. Vancouver Giants in Langley
Published 1:30 am Friday, December 9, 2016
If it seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve had a live blog, you’re right.
The U.S. Division- and the Western Conference-leading Silvertips (20-3-5-0, 45 points) are back on the road tonight in Langley, B.C., where they will take on the Vancouver Giants. Everett wrapped up its just-completed seven-game homestand with a 5-1-1 record following an overtime loss to Tri-City Wednesday.
The Giants (11-17-1-1, 24 points) are last in the Western Conference and 2-6-1-1 in their last 10 games. The Tips beat them twice to open the regular season back in September.
Vancouver is getting into the festive spirit this weekend as the Giants will be sporting ugly Christmas sweaters.

IN TODAY’S preview story I wrote about the impending absence of Noah Juulsen and Carter Hart. The duo is headed to Hockey Canada’s World Junior selection camp Saturday and could miss about a month of games if both make the roster.
The Tips won’t be the only team affected and it’s worth remembering that Team Canada isn’t the only country that will pull players from the WHL. In the U.S. Division, the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Portland Winterhawks could each potentially lose two players, while Tri-City could lose one.
A cursory look shows that Regina will potentially lose the most with four, while Kelowna could lose three.

THE GENTLEMEN over at www.dubnetwork.ca do excellent work and Thursday they posted a statistics list that shows the Tips leading the league in fewest fights (five), tied for first in fewest empty net goals (zero), highest adjusted save percentage and highest PDO.
Did you know the @WHLsilvertips have only had 5 fighting majors this year? These stats and more HERE—> https://t.co/feDgYpBhzx
