Man, 90, dies in Snohomish house fire

SNOHOMISH — A man in his 90s died Tuesday in an early morning fire off Roosevelt Road between Snohomish and Monroe.
The fire was reported around 4:20 a.m. When crews arrived, they learned that the man was trapped inside.
It was reported that there was fire coming from the TV, according to a press release.
Two Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were first on scene and attempted to enter the home but were overwhelmed by the smoke.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the home. They were able to locate the victim and remove him from the home. CPR was started but crews were unable to revive him.
The victim’s wife made it out of the home with no injuries. One deputy was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
There was heavy smoke damage throughout the home.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
