EVERETT — An Everett man, 31, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail after his fiance reportedly identified him as the suspect in a bank robbery.

The man allegedly walked into the downtown Union Bank on Colby Avenue around 11 a.m. Tuesday. He demanded the teller hand over all of the $100 and $20 bills in the drawer and then ran away, according to police.

The robbery was captured by the bank’s surveillance cameras.

Shortly afterward, someone saw a man matching the suspect’s description running into an apartment about two blocks from the bank.

When officers arrived at the apartment on Hoyt Avenue, the suspect had changed his clothes. His facial hair and a red mark on his cheek matched the man seen in the video. The fiance asked to see surveillance images and also gave a statement.

The man was scheduled for a first appearance in court Wednesday. He was being held for investigation of first-degree robbery.
