Richie del Puerto, the automotive technology instructor at the Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center, was selected as one of five state finalists in the 2016-17 Solve for Tomorrow contest.
The contest, which is sponsored by Samsung, asks teachers to submit a lesson plan that shows how STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) can be applied to help the local community.
The Sno-Isle entry showed how to use STEAM methods to rebuild and refurbish old vehicles.
