Josh Clauson of the cross-genre jam band Flowmotion and the producer of the Summer Meltdown music festival in Darrington is set to record a new solo album.

To help get the process started, Clauson has put up an online Kickstarter fundraising campaign at www.kickstarter.com/projects/59601386/josh-clausons-new-solo-album-driftless.

The fundraising goal is $18,000. Earlier this week, more than $10,000 had been raised. The deadline to help is Jan. 9.

“I have a new batch of heartfelt songs that I am ready to share,” said Clauson, who grew up in the Trafton community near Arlington.

Clauson said he’s never been more excited about making an album. This one, titled “Driftless,” was written with the help of his wife, Genevieve.

“I can’t wait to get into the studio to record these songs,” Clauson said. “A dreamy, ethereal folklike sound is what you can expect.”

Members of the Bellingham band Polecat, which performed at the 2016 Fisherman’s Village Music Festival in Everett, are set to back Clauson in the studio.

The album release date is June 20, he said.
