Internet retail class

A free class focusing on the advantages and challenges of online retail is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday at the Sultan Community Center, 319 Main St. The class is aimed at helping retail business owners understand their options for selling online. It is presented by Sean Standefer of the Standever Institute, a nonprofit that helps workers who have been hurt by automation in their industries.

Space is limited and those interested in attending the class should contact the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce by calling 360-793-0983 or emailing debbie@skyvalleyvic.net.

Emergency response training: The Everett Police Department plans to hold Community Emergency Response Team training. The classes focus on being prepared for a disaster. The training is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Feb. 21 through April 11. Deadline for registration is Feb. 7. New leaders: The Lynnwood City Council has chosen its new leaders for 2017. Benjamin Goodwin will serve as council president, with Ruth Ross as vice president. Goodwin is in his second term on the council. Ross served two terms on the council, from 2002-2010, before being elected again in 2013.
