Volunteer recognized by Arlington mayor

Charleen O’Neal recently was recognized with a Mayor’s Volunteer Award in Arlington. O’Neal volunteers up to 90 hours a month with programs andcauses that benefit the city.
O’Neal serves as vice president of the Friends of the Arlington Library. She started and staffs the Children’s Storybook Garden activities at the library.As a member of the Brown Bag Brigade, she helps pack and distribute lunches for people waiting in line at the Arlington Food Bank. She serves on theArlington Arts Council. She helps with monthly art projects at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club. And she helps a local disabled woman who cannotleave her home by making friendly visits and bringing her art supplies.
