Lake Stevens High School took the top Sweepstakes award at the Newport Jazz Festival, held March 11 at Newport High School in Bellevue.

The Jackson High School Jazz Band 3 took top honors in the A/AA division. Jackson sophomore saxophonist Brendan Jeffords also received the Outstanding Soloist award for the division.

Glacier Peak High School Jazz Band 1 was a runner-up in the 4A division. In 3A, Meadowdale High School was a runner-up.
