Jackson Martin, 5, won a $500 Disney Summer of Service grant through Youth Service America. The grant was aimed at a community service project that addresses child safety and recreation.

Jackson partnered with the Arlington Rotary Club, where his mom is a member, to help with the city’s splash park project, for which the Rotary has helped raise money.

On March 11, Jackson and several friends took a break from playing to instead spread fresh wood chips in the playground areas at Haller Park.
