EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips released their schedule for the 2017-18 season Tuesday.

The Tips open at home on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:05 p.m. against the Portland Winterhawks. Everett concludes the brief two-game homestand at 4:05 Sunday with a game against the Tri-City Americans.

“Pink the Rink” Night against the Seattle Thunderbirds is Sunday, Oct. 22 at 4:05 p.m. The Teddy Bear Toss is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:05 p.m. against the Saskatoon Blades.

Everett makes its biennial swing through the Central Division Oct. 6-14.

Looking for forward help in import draft

The annual two-round CHL import draft takes place Wednesday and the Tips will be looking to fill two overage slots.

Forward Dominic Zwerger aged out of the league, and Eetu Tuulola is under contract with HPK in the Finnish Liiga and won’t be returning, Everett general manager Garry Davidson said Tuesday.

Tuulola, a sixth-round pick by the Calgary Flames in the 2016 NHL draft, wasn’t signed by the organization prior to the June 15 deadline, so HPK chose to have him return to Finland.

The Tips hold the 58th slot in the 60-team opening round, but Davidson expects that to move to the 52nd pick based on teams passing earlier in the round. Everett also has the 16th pick in the second round.
