BOTHELL — A family was displaced after a house fire early Sunday north of Bothell.

A man and a woman also suffered smoke inhalation, said Leslie Hynes with Snohomish County Fire District 1. They were taken to a local hospital and later released.

Six people were at the home along First Avenue W, east of Lynnwood, when the fire broke out just before 6 a.m. That included the couple, their teenage son and his friends.

None reported hearing a smoke alarm, Hynes said.

The flames apparently began in the laundry room.

“The room was so heavily damaged the investigator was unable to determine exactly how the fire started, but noted it appeared to be accidental,” Hynes said.

Damage was estimated at $285,000.
